Rishi Dharia created his first canvas painting in 9th grade boarding school because the classroom was in front of the ocean, yet he made the sunset gloomy. By the time he was ready for college, he decided to enroll at Baroda in India, where he received admission into its Fine Arts program. He describes his art as an entity with which he tries to capture a quality that is immeasurable in space and unfathomable in time…all of his work is kind of A dreamscape with a pinch of horror. He began with primary colors but now prefers black and white underneath metallic colors like gold and silver; mostly in their pure form without mixing because he feels it creates an intense and extreme visual effect. Rishi does a lot of self-portraits, because he thinks that nobody else cooperates better to remain still for a study.
