Gillian Brown is an artist with varied skills.  She is a photographer, painter, poet, and dabbles with just about every medium and style incorporating them into her own unique style.  From a family of artists, her Mother and two of her siblings are very artistically inclined, she has a natural knack for artistic endeavors.  Cousins and extended relatives are also artists, photographers and musicians.  Gillian met her significant other on DeviantART, an artist social networking site, who is also a very talented artist.  Together, they have a son who they hope will share their interest in artistic pursuits.

She has lived many places, met many faces and as such, greatly influenced by these experiences.  Raised in a small town, Emmitsburg, MD and later, she moved all up and down the East coast.  Gillian now resides in Indiana.  Gillian has always considered the DC Freaks scene to be her true home with an extensive "family" of some of the most intriguing and brilliant individuals.  Another great influence.  Friends and family are very much a part of her art form.  Much of her works is expressive, portraying the lives she's loved and the experiences she has had.  A very open and caring person, Gillian shares her love of life and art with the world.

Family life was certainly an unusual one. A non-traditional family, with two half sisters and three step-siblings.  Later she came to know a younger half brother whom she did not grow up with.  Recently, Gillian learned of another "long lost" older brother, whom it had been very emotional to discover, but truly a joy to know.  Their ethnic backgrounds are rather unusual as well.  With a half German sister, herself being half Chinese, her younger sister half Jewish, younger brother Chinese and Filipino, and older brother a European blend of almost everything.

She has no formal education.  Mostly self taught, but she had her mother to thank for the support she gave in all her pursuits.  Gillian not only has a talent for traditional art, but graphic design and CSS as well.  She studied photography in high school and held a few professional retail photographer positions in her work experience.  She enjoys creating crafts and artistic gifts, and has found herself a niche for that on Etsy.  She learned digital retouching and photo restoration from her boyfriend, who was a professional retouch artist.  Their ultimate goal would be to open an artistic business together featuring both of their arts and professional services.  Currently, Gillian is trying to establish herself as an artist in her community and build up a portfolio.  Never before had she attempted to sell her art, though it is something Gillian would truly love to devote her life to.

Life has defined a lot of who she is today and how she expresses herself.  Hoping to share herself with the world and have a little bit of the world in return.  Perhaps because of this varied background and the myriad of people in her life, may be explanation as to why she loves so many things and never can chose a favorite.  No favorite color, no favorite movie, no favorite song... There's so many to choose from, how could Gillian only love one?
