The gift of inner sustenance and souls
Aflame by the frayed design of midnight deep,
A mercy made perfect by the virgin lines of
Youth and the spaces between today and tomorrow,
A reverberating dominion given the crimson
Twilight rose and the shadow of a ghost in
Dreamy darkness.

The heat in shallow flashes of twilight, a hairbreadth of
Orange akin to the ghosts of grieving suns and dawn’s
Battle, wrought unto the simmering tongue of a black eyed
Raven in curious foray between the place where
We were born to imagine and the place we were meant
To measure by the width of a bidden dream, of shadow and
Moon-glow reverie, a sound given the heartbeat
Of evening whispers, through the calm of a mystery
In fires of swamp morass and ancient
Sylvan egress, by the way of select
Silhouettes gone along the trail
Unto life and death.

Spun by ebony threads in a voodoo dream,
By perfumed Hyacinth blooms and burlap cloaks of
Scarecrow design, the pin and needle by
Garlic seed and horseradish flavor,
The breath of a witch and wicked measures of
Bat blood.

The darkness in dances of ownership provoked by claims
Of scarlet robins in flight, closer to the will of an
Unbidden heart, a fable found in fear of innocence
And swirling heavens alight by riot and fires of
Falling glances, by the tempest in wanton harmonies
Of ash, tears and rain, by the frayed boundaries of an echoing
Song sung in tale bearing call unto eternal shades
Of autumn night and the abandon in mischief and
Wonting hungry avatars of balanced breath, a manifest drama
Of ethereal illusion and spun silken webs
