Daniel Bechthold is 27, and was born in Hanau, Germany. He has drawn since he can remember. In the early days, he was heavily inspired by cartoons and comics, mostly the dark stuff like Spawn, Batman and so on, and always wanted to create something on his own. Then there came movies from John Carpenter, George Romero...the "Good Old Horror Films"; same with stories from Poe and Lovecraft.

He saw more darkness than light in his life, but darkness is also a natural part of life; if there is no darkness, there is also no light. Most people don't see that way and are always a bit disturbed when they view dark paintings or drawings.

At one point in his life, a huge thing occurred that showed him what he could do with painting. An accident happened which destroyed his leg muscles and brought him into a wheelchair.

He began living his life after Friedrich Nietzsche's philosophy: "That what doesn't kill you makes you stronger."

From the accident, Daniel discovered the whole different dimensions that art has to offer and used the time to improve his style. Also during that time, he met Shahram Alizadeh (whose art was featured in The Horror Zine HERE) who really supported his mind and emotions.

It has a happy ending, though. After years of really hard rehabilitation, his legs are working again. He decided that Friedrich Nietzsche was right.
