King ov Rats is a 25-year-old artist living in Poland. Since early childhood, his fascinations were things strange, dark and out of the ordinary. Yearning for them has led him to his artistic pursuits which he believes are best summarized as a quest to capture the spirit of eldritch into visible manifestation.

His prime inspirations are mythology and beliefs of various cultures, literature, biology, astronomy, music etc. In fact, everything he comes into contact with in some way contributes to the way his art develops.  The most important factor, however, is the imagination that not only provides a fair share of concepts by itself but also helps to bind and dissolve al the original elements so that the emerging result often looks nothing like what it was inspired by.

While he has envisioned many strange and horrible beings through conscious effort, in his dreams, his subconscious mind is still capable of surprising him with even weirder creations.  He dreams vividly almost every night and those dreams often provide him with great source material.

As far as literature goes, his biggest influences are some early 19th century writers, namely Howard Philips Lovecraft and Clark Ashton Smith.  Sadly, the second author is much less recognized than he deserves to and in King ov Rats’ recent works, he attempts to bring his obscure creations to be more widely known.

Besides that, King ov Rats is always happy to enjoy some good metal music as well as nature photography.
