BIRTHED BY BLOODLETTING

The muzzle flash and screams light the way
To what is foretold to be a better day.
The battles rage on, throwing innocence away,
To benefit the nation towards its decay.

Soldiers die as their people cheer,
But to what cause is never clear.

After the last drop of blood has fallen
Those who remain can still hear their brothers calling.
They return home with great sadness in their eyes,
Driven to madness by one man's lies.

Citizens flock to the streets in celebration
Of the enemies decimation,
Without recognition of their own.

Within the Oval Office the Commander-in-Chief sits on his throne
Unaware of the steadily growing moans.
While out in the yard fallen soldiers roam,
Eventually breaking their way into his home.

He stares helplessly at corpses rotting to the bone
As they latch themselves upon his flesh
So that he may never cast another stone.

DREAMSCAPES OR REALITY

As I awake my visions fade
Of death, destruction and pain.
With each waking hour
It gets harder to maintain
As my thoughts keep slipping
Away from the sane.

Stuck in a world
I don't quite understand,
With nothing around me
But parasites of the land.

It makes me wonder if there are more like me,
Or am I the only one that is going crazy?

Each day is wasted
As if a fleeting dream
Where nothing is really
Quite as it seems.

Clouded visions,
Truth masked by a lie
And nobody even cares enough to ask why.

THE GHOUL

When darkness creeps upon the land
There lingers a creature that feasts
On the flesh of man.

Consumed by fire and pain
With an overwhelming hate
Which nothing can tame.

Its presence unknown
Until it's too late.

Scream if you like...
...It cannot change your fate.
