Dale Bott is a Calgary-based, freelance artist/illustrator born in the year 1966. At a very young age he was always fascinated by the classic horror films of universal and Hammer. Dale would spend hours trying to draw the different characters and scenes from the films. In high school, he received an award in print making and character painting. He went on to attend the Alberta College of Art and Design for two years. As he grew to adulthood, he gradually started to experiment with art, changing from pencil doodling to watercolor paint, inks and washes. Dale was influenced by Frank Frazetta, Ken Kelly and Esteban Maroto and the fantastic covers they created for the Warren Publication's Creepy and Eerie. Today, Dale is a 'story board' artist for Cinematic Films. One of his career highlights (so far) is that his piece, tilted "The Savage Planet," will be appearing in the forthcoming Dreamworks Sci-Fi film I Am Number 4. Another highlight was creating a movie poster for an Indie Film. Dale recently attended his first Comic Expo as an exhibitor and sold fifteen of his original pieces there. He enjoyed meeting other artists at the Expo and to speak with the many enthusiastic people who love genre art. Visit Dale at www.mycreepyclassicart.com
