Mark Turtoo is the name he likes to go by in the art world. Born the 13th of December in Rijeka, Croatia, he moved at an early age in Trieste, Italy (a nice city in the north of Italy with deep Austrian roots) where he completed all his studies before moving to Treviso to graduate at the University of Arts and Design of Venice. With that done, Mark found a job as a graphic designer in Trieste.

Photography has accompanied him since before entering the University, more than seven years now, and Mark has continued with that medium. Fast forward to today and you’ll see the results in his signature cinematic images, dark and filled with conceptual meaning where he's both in front and behind the camera. The images he produces are often full of sorrow and with characters who lost themselves in a world they’re not familiar with, desperately searching for their identity and a way out.

Only this year (2017) did he decide to put himself out there and start to post his images on a weekly basis on his online profiles where, to his great relief, they’ve been acclaimed by a small but steadily growing audience which he deeply thanks. They are a huge help in keeping Mark motivated during these uncertain beginnings and he can only hope to be able to deliver more and not disappoint.
