Emerald Barkley paints the world we all too often fail to see; she calls our attention to the movement seen from the corner of the eye, the isolation we feel but fear to acknowledge, and the meaning behind the matter of our lives. Her work often touches on themes such as the nature of human consciousness, the eternal cycle of life and death, and the universal goodness of rainbow unicorn horns. When not busy casting light into the darker corners of our lives, this native of Northern California can often be found fighting for social justice, teaching children the proper methods of utilizing urban sprawl to escape from authority figures, and prophesying the Return of the Old Ones and the Impending Doom of Us All. She also enjoys hiking. You can see more of Emerald's art HERE
