Rachel Brown is a college student studying Art, Graphic Design and Creative Writing. That said, right at the moment she doesn’t know exactly what she wants to do with her life, but she does know that it has to be something with art or writing, her true passions.

In the meantime, Rachel’s work is driven by the books, places, dreams and people that she experiences. These things create an imprint upon her mind and heart, altering her inner eye, and changing the way she creates.

Rachel generally works with a saturated palette, creating patterns and symbols, and rendering colorful images and bizarre concepts, often accompanied by a few words. A lot of her influence is drawn from surrealist Salvador Dali, post-impressionist Vincent Van Gogh, psychedelic poster artist Peter Max, and maybe a little of San Francisco’s Filmore West posters from the late 60s.

Rachel feels that her art is a way to reflect on the grand scheme of things and to investigate her own life through introspection, creating an indirect extension of myself. She believes that self-expression is a vessel through which humans become fleetingly God-like, as man is given the opportunity to become a creator as well.
